Key responsibilities and accountabilities
· Reviews design blueprints.
· Prepares 3D CAD models.
· Makes necessary calculations and determines sequence of operations in a program.
· Analyzes and selects appropriate fixtures, setup, cutting tools, speeds and feeds for programs.
· Creates CNC programs using CAM software.
· Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests.
· Monitors all programs during testing and production runs to make sure they follow blueprint requirements and safely and successfully complete the task.
· Creates instructions for machinists.
· Communicates with other manufacturing engineers and program users to ensure the manufactured products meet quality and productivity objectives.
· Monitors and makes improvements to setup, fixtures, tools, programs for increased productivity and quality.
· Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
· Works closely with company personnel to ensure achievement of company’s mission, strategy and objectives.

Competence requirements
a. Background /qualification:
- University/ College degree in a technical discipline, mechanical engineering preferred.
b. Experience:
- Minimum 3 year experience in programming 4-axis CNC mill
c. Special skill:
- Must have the ability to read blueprints.
- Must have working knowledge of milling tools selection and application.
- Familiar with CNC milling machines and processes.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD/CAM, 4-axis milling, preferably Catia V5 R20.
- Good math skills, especially algebra, trigonometry and physics.
- Must be highly detail oriented.
- Must have good problem solving skills.
- Must have good organizational and planning skills
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Must be able to work effectively with little or no supervision.
- Self-started and able to excel in a fast paced environment.
- Fair English communication, writing and reading.
