Business Planning Analysis Manager

Job Purpose  (State in one sentence the overall objective of the job)

The Business Planning & Analysis Manager is co-responsible for developing and using financial early warning forecast systems for the Medical channel. He/she provides financial, budgetary forecasts and strategic plans for the Medical channel and is in charge of consolidation for the country and global officers, ensuring reporting system interoperability and data integrity.

 

Major Accountabilities  (Describe the main results of the job to be achieved )

 Planning, Analysing, Monitoring P&L

  • Design and maintain early warning systems for financial tracking, ensuring accurate advance warning for all financial results for the Medical channel.
  • Proactively carryout value-added analyses on financial data, supporting and testing information provided by global and regional financial officers.
  • Assist with the development of detailed budget and financial forecasts for use in global and regional, as well as country, Business Franchise, and Business Unit planning.
  • Drive continuous learning within the Medical channel by performing post-implementation financial analyses on past initiatives and sharing results across the organization.
  • Responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining data gathering and analysis systems, including information such as: revenues, expenses, costs, investments, cash flow, pricing & profits in line with global and regional requirements, etc.
  • Perform all types of financial and economic data gathering, processing, analysis and forecasts to meet company growth targets.
  • Review Medical Channel Forecasts, Latest Forecasts (LFs) and Budgets and analysis of Actual.
  • Co-ordination of Budget process, ensuring budgeting timetable is on track.
  • Monitor and Keep track of all Risks and Opportunities for the Medical channel actively managing the P&L to ensure key objectives are met.
  • Optimising Net Working Capital, monitoring closely over dues and slow moving inventory.
  • Provide BPA support for Medical Channel, ensuring financial analysis is sound with appropriate ROI and NPV’s for all business cases. Understand business requirements and proactively provide financial guidance to ensure bottom line is maximised and improved.

Reporting

  • Consolidate financials for Medical and Direct channels for reporting of Forecasts, Latest Forecasts (LFs) and Budgets and analysis of Actuals.
  • Leads FCRS and SPMR reporting for Latest Forecasts (LFs) and Budgets.
  • Leads preparation of Monthly Business Review, Latest Forecast (LFs), Budget and Operational Plan decks.
  • Ensure consistent financial data and report financial planning 

Business Partnering

  • Take an active role in business decisions by providing valuable information and recommendations, including reviewing/challenging all underlying assumptions for the Medical channel.
  • Support decision-making and controlling within the Medical Sales & Marketing function through helping to develop financial evaluation of a) proposed projects, and b)  planned or actual data in order that enhanced financial performance is delivered.
  • Proactively interface with financial officers/BPAs in other country organisations to obtain financial best practices and in-market data results, benchmarking country results and methods against ones from other markets
  • Key interfaces include: CFO/Head Finance; Country Head; FSC - FRA/financial control team; Region Finance team; Head Sales and Marketing; Trade Managers and Business Intelligence team

 Financial and Business Results:

  • Impact of early warning and value-added analyses on country profit
  • P&L management, profitability and cost control

 

 Operational Excellence:

 

  • Reliability, timeliness and accuracy of budgetary and financial forecasts
  • Accuracy of early-warning system and results

 

Ideal Background  (State the minimum and desirable education and experience level)

 

Education:

University degree in economics, management accounting or related field

 

Languages:           

Fluent in local language and English

 

Experience:    

·       < 5 years of experience in similar roles

·       Experience in audit and/or controlling, ideally in MNC

·       Experience designing and operating financial reporting and forecasting systems

·       Experience or background of a generics pharmaceutical background is helpful.
