Position      :        Market Access and Customer Excellence Manager

Reports to      :           Country Manager, Vietnam

Location         :           Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Purpose Statement:

·         For Market Access: Guide, coordinate, plan, and prioritize the broad area of market access capabilities to design and implement innovative market access solutions into the changing market environment while driving cross-functional teamwork placing the patient at the center of any efforts and operating within company business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

·         For Customer Excellence: Guides, monitors, and develops strategies aimed to improve business and planning processes across all brands and departments to add continuous improvement value placing the patient at the center of any efforts and operating within company business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.


Market Access responsibilities:

·         Manage cross-functional task forces to elaborate key insights for new products (prior to Phase 3) and help better tailor clinical development to ensure optimized access and price.

·         Ensure pricing and reimbursement at national and local level is aligned to and leverages other commercial strategies in order to meet or exceed affiliate plan.

·         Work closely with other functions such as Medical and Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs to build networks, understanding and close partnerships with key decision makers and leverage influence through joint programs of action in order to maximize company brands success.

·         Ensure close collaboration with Area and Global and maintain awareness and understanding of the impact of local affiliate decisions on company’s global business and vice versa in order to ensure Area and Global strategies and tactics are aligned with those of the Affiliate to meet both, local and Area/Global needs to maximize momentum on delivering brand performance.

·         Lead NPI (New Product Introduction) by working closely with cross-functional team to drive launch excellence.  

·         Anticipate and influence Contracting and Tendering situations and develop strategies in order to deal with Contracting and Tendering challenges and maximize their opportunities for the business.


Customer Excellence responsibilities:

·         Develop and integrate strategies across Commercial Operations to review/improve business and strategic planning processes in order to improve general business performance.

·         Lead key cross functional projects and liaise cross-functionally in order to identify opportunities and projects that deliver increased efficiency, product sales, productivity and/or value to customers.

·         Assess performance against business KPIs, drive effective sales incentive models, train sales force and other appropriate in-field/office based roles on concepts, processes, methodology, and benefits of state of the art and innovative systems (i.e. SFE, CRM, No Limits, etc.) to continuously improve performance.

·         Drive primary/secondary market research efforts in order to support Commercial Operations teams to achieve higher marketing and sales impact.

·         Review and critically evaluate Brand Planning process in order to improve business impact of brand strategy and tactics; plan and coordinate timelines/date commitments for Long Range Plan, No Number Long Range Plan, Sales & Operational Planning, etc.

·         Lead Future Fit implementation in order to achieve excellence.

·         Develop, lead and coach direct reports (if applicable)

·         As member of the Management Team, role model company WWW behavior.



·         Bachelor’s degree of Pharmacy or equivalent

·         Relevant experience with proven track record of success in delivering commercial results and/or being responsible for product access to market.

·         Extensive knowledge of the healthcare environment, including deep knowledge of payer and provider mechanisms, funding flows, and legislation affecting market access of pharmaceutical products.

·         Good understanding of area healthcare systems to have an area-wide perspective for local affiliate decisions.

·         Proven track record of successful leadership, management and coaching of teams and individuals, and in having developed talent and performance managed low performers (if applicable).

·         Ability to drive complex cross-functional collaboration to involve and to align Market Access strategy with other business strategies.

·         English language proficiency verbally and in writing



·         Relevant experience working within a payer and provider organization

·         Relevant international health care environment experience.

·         Relevant experience with proven track record of success in senior sales, customer and/or business excellence/SFE and project management roles.

·         Solid knowledge on finance principles, CRM, and Sales Force Excellence tools and systems

·         Ability to analyze data to leverage market insight from internal and external sources into powerful insights.
