Job Title: Product Manager
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Head of Core Retail
Job Purpose
Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of operational plans that optimize sales, market share and revenue growth for a brand or a set of brands in the short and long term.
Major Accountabilities
Financial and Business Results:
- Responsibility for sales performance, resource allocation and cost management of the product(s) in charged to achieve targets.
- Manage expenditure in place within annual budget (A&P).
Market Insight
- Interacts with all customer groups to make market observations, and identifies potential insights and market access issues.
- Acquires disease and market understanding to develop customer insights through appropriate techniques/tools
- Segments customer groups by agreed criteria
- Supports and contributes to market research activities, using basic tools and sources.
- Identifies suitable forecast analogues and helps in setting up strategy.
Planning
- Identifies potential key tactical options within each component of the marketing mix.
- Optimizes channel/promotional mix for individual brand through appropriate resource allocation that meets brand objectives and customer needs.
- Understanding and use of marketing principles to deliver to customer needs
- Manages brand finance and budgets, including appropriate management of brand resources
Execution
- Creates and delivers operational plans appropriate to life cycle of brand to optimize return for company.
- Executes key opinion leader development program.
- Leads development and delivery of key promotional campaign materials from insights to review, production and implementation.
- Drives consistent execution of product strategy throughout Marketing, Field Force, Managed Markets/Market Access, Medical using appropriate KPIs.
- Liaison with external agencies to deliver initiatives for brands.
- Acts as brand champion to create focus and enthusiasm both internally and with external customers and agencies.
- Monitors business performance and external environment via appropriate tools and takes corrective action as required to meet business objectives.
- Ensures all promotional process are in adherence to SP3 guidelines

- Delivery and quality of marketing plan: timeliness, detail, insight, innovation
- Business understanding and analytics: competency, accuracy and insight-driven
- Timely and effective product launches with marketing strategy
- Execution of key marketing programs (investigator meeting or study initiation, new products launch campaign, branding work for strategic products etc
Ideal Background
Education: A University degree in Science and /or degree in Business marketing and preferably some post graduate marketing qualification
Languages: Fluent in English
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical marketing, ideally in MNC and/or Generics.
- Strong leadership experience.
- Successful record of contribution and/or P&L responsibility.
- Strong ability to communicate with senior management on country and regional level and beyond.
